    It was a united blunt statement coming from a PolSci* block saying, “We don’t do activism”.

    *Most of the student activists in UP are PolSci majors. Go check.

    Yes, we are PolSci majors.

    Yes, we want change in this country.

    But we believe rallies aren’t the only answer. 

    And no we won’t join just because someone influential will.

    ^^

    It’s difficult for me to verbalize that there are more effective alternatives to rallies. I do not say that rallies are totally ineffective. In fact, it is only one element in the struggle for change. It is for a good cause from good intentions. But truth be told, do those in the higher ups really give a damn about those whose rights have been robbed? Look. A collective movement. Occupy, rallies, whatever you may want to call them— somehow, they end up doing nothing. Nothing, nowadays. But let us draw inspiration from the People Powers. Earlier, when we were RTR-ed, the mini-speech made sense. Isn’t it quite ironic that what put the current president’s mother into position was a rally in itself? Maybe the difference between then and now was that more people cared in those times.

    But now that I have looked at it, I have contradicted myself. But I digress. Perhaps, we need to step back and think— think of what other things we can do to send the message to the higher ups.

    UPCAT? Have some UP cats! (Get it? Yes, I know it’s such a lame joke. K.) :))

    First up is that fat cat on the bottom-left. He’s Morel. And why is he first? Because he’s the Lord Chancellor, of course! Though he may seem like he just snoozes the entire day away, he actually rules over UP Manila— especially its students. This supreme kitty’s so famous, he’s got his own Facebook fanpage and Twitter. :))

    I don’t really know the name of the kitty on top (though the security guard once called him Inosente). Apparently he’s Lord Chancy’s assistant? I’m not really sure, but he’s one of the nicest, friendliest cats in CAS.

    And speaking of friendly cats, there’s the kitty that spends his days in the GAB Cafeteria of the CAS, which is why we call him the GAB Caf Cat. He’d often walk around the cafeteria and lobby of the Gusaling Andres Bonifacio, curling up next to students eating their meals or even jumping on their laps and taking a nap there. Perhaps he’s a bit too friendly.

    Why, yes, this has been a gratuitous post of cats and my love for them. Witness my bias love for felines. :)

    I wonder, Lord Chancy was reported missing a few weeks ago. Was it found now? ^^

    I miss making onigiris for UPM-OMAKE…

    …oh that one-week maid cafe @ UPM fair. I couldn’t forget this experience, really. XD

    Seeing all those food-related (well, Japanese food to be exact) tumblr entries on my screen gives me the jitters to visit Little Tokyo once more and shell out all my allowance buying ingredients like furikake, Japanese rice, nori, kani, and even dining at Hana and Choto Stop. MISO RAMEN, OKONOMIYAKI, AND PINO ICE CREAM, I’LL GET YOU AGAIN SOON. 

    Can’t wait for the org’s “field trip” to this awesome place. And next year’s maid cafe too, we’ll make it more special than the previous. Kaichou already has small yet epic plans for the org’s major projects nao, ahohohoho. PERHAPS WE’LL BE SERVING FRIED OREOS AGAIN, HMMMMM? XD
